Gail Vehslage, flutist

Teacher

Flute Studio

Flutist Gail Vehslage maintains a large private studio with students ranging in age from 7 to 70. A hallmark of her studio is that it provides students with numerous performance opportunities in addition to regular flute lessons. Those performance opportunities include spring and summer student recitals, a winter chamber music workshop, and the highly successful "Flute Fever Summer Music Camp."

Gail's flute students have won numerous scholarships as music majors to prestigious colleges and universities including Peabody Conservatory, the University of Maryland, College Park and Baltimore County; James Madison University; the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and School of the Arts; and Radford University. However, the goal of most of her students is not a college major in music. Gail prepares all students to appreciate and enjoy a lifetime of music and of flute, whether as amateurs or professionals.

From 1994 to 2003, she was the Instrumental Music Director at South River High School in Anne Arundel County where she established award-winning programs and received international acclaim. Ms. Vehslage has been listed three times in "Who's Who" Among America's Teachers.
